Last February the 2nd we announced that the Blog search engine homesite was already running. A little more than a month after, we have the pleasure to inform that we already have a homesite for the community of hoobbers.
We already explained in due course that Hoobing.com is not only an intermediary-free hotel search engine; it also wants to become a social tool for the whole community of travelers. That’s why, functionalities like the blog search engine or the community of travelers are very useful to get ready for a trip: one can complete the available information about destinations by means of blogs, which are written by the travelers themselves, as well as sharing experiences with other users.

Hoobbers, our registered users, can create pix galleries, upload photos, write on his travel diary and share it with other users. This way, one of the activities that will enhance our social network is the possibility to check the recent activities of other users. Besides, users can also search for other users by means of the functionalities “search by continent”, “search by country” and “search by map” included within our search engine.
Another functionality which will allow users enjoying their tourism experience is the option to search hoobers depending on the kind of tourism they practice: family tourism, business tourism, gourmet tourism, etc. The said functionality can be used by clicking on the tab “Types of Tourism” on the top area within the user homesite.
These are little details we are implementing to make Hoobing a great traveler social network. What about you? Aren’t you a hoober yet? As we commented last month, our blog search engine is already up and rolling. Today, we would like to dedicate this post to our “blog of the week” section, one of the options included within that search functionality. From January the 29th, 7 blogs have been honored as our “blog of the week”. From last thursday, the Hoobing team recommends you a blog that recently registered with Hoobing.com. Its name: “Volta dels 25”, an interesting blog written by a young Catalan journalist who is traveling around the globe with the intention to interview 25 25-years-old youngsters from all over the world. “La Volta dels 25” was awarded most voted non-English blog by Travel Blog Awards 2009, which we commented last week. Next, we display the list of blogs that Hoobing highlighted to date. Amongst them, you will find purely informative blogs, while some other prefer a more personal approach, we will even find some completely unpublished before, as” A Outra Face da Cidade Surpreendente”, a superb  fotoblog about Oporto.

Here we are with more weekly fresh news from the Hoobing team. On this occasion we announce that HUSA Hotel Chain has registered all its hotels in Barcelona. Currently, if you carry out a search process by hotel under the term “HUSA” on Hoobing.com, you will get the name of 10 establishments of the chain.
This fact shows two things: each time more and more prestige hotel chains rely on Hoobing’s philosophy and that our website is continually being improved and upgraded with state-of-the-art programming and functionalities, for we have integrated a multiple registration system for hotels, very useful for those hotel chains composed by a large amount of entities, like Husa hotels in Barcelona.

As we announced some weeks ago, Hoobing has been integrated with channel managers like Rate Tiger and Channel Direct, so you, the hoteliers, will be able to display your rates on Hoobing. As you know, all prices displayed on your datasheet will be merely informative as users will have to carry out all booking processes on the hotel’s own website.

Today, we can announce that the integration we missed have been carried out successfully. Hotels using EZ Yield Channel Manager will be able to display the rates of your establishment by means of this platform.

We believe that the culmination of this last integration is a very important step forward for your hotels because from now on you will not only be able to display static information of your establishments – descriptions, pictures, videos, services -  but also update dynamically your rates by means of the said channel managers.

These last days have been pretty busy around here. We, as the rest of the humans, have our wishes for this New Year: to publish this blog in two languages, upload new functionalities we are still cooking, introduce our project to the world… and for this purpose, what can’t think of anything better than assisting to the next Fitur tradeshow!!!

It’s quarter to 12, on an ordinary Tuesday. You are working. And then, all of a sudden, when you almost forgot it yourself, a reminder jumps on your outlook. It’s Hoobing meeting at 12. On the table, two laptops, a projector and loads of notebooks, these are the weapons of an eight- people team. We got through the launching but this has just started… We still have new functionalities in store, brand new items which are currently in development. Among these new sections we would like to highlight one special Hoobbers section and our top notch blog section.

Today we celebrate our first week online and despite the fact Hoobing is still in beta version, we are delighted to see all the positive comments we are currently receiving from blogger community. Besides, last week we attended World Travel Market fair in London, where the project was very well received by international tourism industry professionals.
